We believe in the Holy Bible recognizing that it was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us, and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried.
The scriptures teach that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor confidence and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God; but through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one. Jesus Christ (the Son of God) was manifested to undo the works of the devil. He gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God.(Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10; I John 3:8)
Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law. It is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. (Ephesians 2:8)
