Costs

Costs vary pending medication, treatment methods, location, and insurance. Costs can range from $125.00 plus for a consultation to over $10,000 for IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) , this does not include medications which can easily cost upward to $3,000 pending your treatment. Also take into consideration other associated costs such as Embryo Cryopreservation and embryo storage.

Before beginning any consultation or treatment, get approval in advance and in writing from your insurance company. Your insurance representative will be able to confirm what is and is not covered under your policy. If you do not have insurance, there are other options:

  • Many centers offer payment plans
  • Some non-profit organizations offer grants to help defray the costs
  • Bank loans are available
  • Financial advisors help with budget planning

According to Resolve, only 15 states have laws requiring insurance coverage for infertility treatment: Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, Texas, and West Virginia.

If your state is not listed, write to their local representative and ask them to introduce legislation to require infertility treatment coverage. Resolve offers template letters. You can visit the Virginia Assembly Website to identify and contact your representative.
